Work Cover

Our Doctors are experienced and understanding when liaising with our patients and clients on a regular basis in elation to WorkCover consultations. We believe it’s best if a sick or injured worker can return to some form of work at the earliest opportunity.

Your WorkCover doctor will complete a WorkCover certificate of capacity for you. This outlines the duties that you can/cannot perform at work and anything that can help your recovery.

The WorkCover certificate of capacity is also used to communicate your WorkCover case with your insurer, employer, and other health professionals involved. The WorkCover Certificate of Capacity has to be updated by your nominated WorkCover doctor often – this means you should follow up with the same doctor for WorkCover appointments.

Chronic Health Services

Chronic diseases affect the quality of life of many Victorians, and can lead to disability and premature death. They also account for a large share of Victoria’s healthcare costs. A chronic medical condition is one that has been (or is likely to be) present for six months or longer, for example, asthma, cancer, cardiovascular disease, diabetes etc.

Chronic diseases can develop and progress differently among people affected, but they have similar characteristics:

  • their cause can be complex, involving many risk factors

  • they may take a long time to develop

  • they result in a long illness, which often cannot be cured

  • they can lead to functional impairment or disability.

We allow our patients to do health checkups to identify any chronic conditions. We provide team-based care and allied health services to plan and coordinate the patient's health care plan for these type of chronic medical conditions. The care plan helps the patients to keep track of the conditions and determine if there has been any improvements in certain interval of time.

Patients who have a chronic medical condition and complex care needs  are eligible for Medicare rebates for certain allied health

services on referral from their GP.

We urge our patients to have a medical checkup if they are unsure about their health conditions on time.

Refugee Health Assessment

This health assessment is for refugees and other humanitarian entrants who arrive in Australia with complex and unusual medical conditions resulting from their area of origin or previous living conditions. This assessment is separate from, and in addition to, a medical assessment specifically for the grant of a Refugee or Humanitarian visa. We provide all necessary information regarding MBS refugee health assessment.

It provides an opportunity to introduce these patients to preventive health care in Australia, in particular immunisation, maternal and child health care, and breast and cervical screening. Many will have been exposed to war, famine, repression, torture and/or extreme poverty. The health assessment will be undertaken in a manner that is sensitive to the needs of the patient. It also includes the assessment of the patient’s physical, psychological and social functioning and whether preventive health care and education should be offered to the patient to improve their health. Clinical investigations will vary with country of origin, age, gender and any previous tests.

We keep records of the health assessment and offer to provide the patient with a written report about the health assessment. Patient consent to the health assessment is documented in the patient’s record.
